About Us

The Charlottetown Dragon Boat Festival made its debut in 2025 and was a great success, uniting teams from across Prince Edward Island for a day of racing, teamwork, and community spirit.

The success of the first festival inspired the creation of DragonBoat PEI, a non-profit organization promoting health, wellness, and community connection through dragon boat racing. Our goal is to make the sport open and welcoming to everyone with no experience needed! Built on teamwork and shared purpose, dragon boat racing brings people together and fosters a sense of belonging.

Proudly presented by DragonBoat PEI the festival is powered by volunteers and supported by local partners. Together, we use sport to unite people, celebrate diversity, and give back to the community.

A portion of the proceeds from the festival support Make-A-Wish PEI, helping grant life-changing wishes to island children facing critical illnesses.

​

We paddled with purpose in 2025, and in 2026, we'll make an even bigger wave as we welcome teams from outside the Island to beautiful Prince Edward Island.
